Painting is a great outlet for some. Others my find it to be a relaxing hobby or for some a way to make a living....for me painting is an addiction. I began painting my freshman year of college some 24 years ago, and I have never stopped. 

My paintings are a response to the subject matter I am viewing. The color choices, the perspective, the overall composition and feel of the piece grows souly from my need to react and respond to any given subject. I see a certain color in nature and I want it to be brighter, bolder. I see certain shapes in nature and I want to bend it or tweek it. I paint to bridge what I know to be real and what I want to be real.

I generally work in series, bouncing between still life and landscape. I work in acrylic moving in and out of watercolor as well. Painting is a reactionary dialogue between what we know and feel to be true/real and what we always hoped it could be.....
